Creamy, dreamy, delicious! Chickpeas and sesame paste reuniting their powers to become a tasty hummus that delights everyone’s taste buds and souls. Versatile and quick to prepare, hummus has a special place in my heart. A delicious dip for any vegetables or freshly made flatbread and also amazing in sandwiches on the go.
I still remember the moment when I tried hummus for the first time, even though it was almost 15 years ago. But how could I forget? It became one of my favourite dishes, and the fact that it is so easy to prepare it’s a bonus! Using a blender and only a few ingredients you can have a yummy hummus that will disappear from your plate in no time. To obtain a really smooth and silky hummus you can remove the skin of every chickpea, rubbing them with your fingers, but that isn’t necessary.
When it comes to spices, I like to add sumac, because it has a sour taste that compliments the hummus, and it also looks really pretty sprinkled on top. Garlic – it is most people’s favourite ingredient in a hummus, but sometimes I like to not use garlic, to obtain a lighter meal, but equally tasty in my opinion. Oregano – I like to add it in most dishes, I like that it has a subtle, but noticeable aroma that makes everything taste better. Cumin – not very high on my list of favourite spices, but a pinch of cumin goes really well in a hummus and it gives it a special taste.
