  • 240 g cooked chickpeas (a can)
  • 30 g tahini (sesame paste)
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml olive oil (or sesame, canola, sunflower oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic or garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 g salt
  • 2 g spices: sumac, ground cumin, paprika, oregano


  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.

  2. Blend all the ingredients using a blender, adding a bit of water if needed to obtain a smooth paste.

  3. Garnish with sumac, parsley, coriander or olive oil.
